ABOUT US

Cornerstone International Academy is an independent, co-educational day school established in 2015 and fully accredited internationally by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to offer the PYP, MYP, and DP programmes. The Academy operates across three campuses in Accra: Edward Scott and Antiwaa, which serve the Primary Years Programme, and Masua, which serves the High School and Diploma Programme.

Cornerstone International Academy maintains a balanced, co-educational student body. While the majority of students come from predominantly Ghanaian families, the school community is highly culturally diverse.

Nationality & Ethnicity:

The student body is primarily of African ethnicity, with many holding dual citizenship with the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, and Germany, alongside vibrant Indian and Lebanese student populations. Other nationalities represented include Nigeria, Togo, and Burkina Faso.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

C.I.A. is committed to socioeconomic diversity and actively supports talented learners from various backgrounds. C.I.A. maintains a scholarship program, supporting some students through full and partial tuition assistance. Tuition fees remain very affordable for an IB school.

Academic Program

Cornerstone International Academy offers a rigorous, 7-year secondary pathway aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, intentionally designed to foster academic excellence and the holistic development of the IB Learner Profile.

Middle Years Programme - MYP

Provides a robust foundational curriculum designed to prepare students for the advanced academic rigors of upper secondary school.

Years 6 to 10

Diploma Programme - DP

Challenging pre-university curriculum where 100% of upper secondary students participate in the full IB Diploma pathway. Students select a tailored suite of courses aligned with their specific strengths and future aspirations.

Years 11 to 12

Community Service (CAS)

Essential core service activities are deeply integrated into the school's culture via the IB Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) framework.

 

Co-Curricular Activities: Students engage in balanced extracurricular development, including structured options like Chess, Karate, and Music lessons.

Academic Calendar: The academic year runs from August–June over three terms. Exams are conducted at the end of each term.
